Coverage is uneven by design: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia are broken down by state, nation or province because the authority is assigned at that level; elsewhere the role set is national. Base map from Natural Earth (public domain); borders are drawn at 1:110m and are not an expression of any view on them.

Roles are lined up by what they do, with each jurisdiction’s own statutory name. Choose a country, or compare all of them. For US states, cells that differ from the uniform/model baseline carry a rule and an italic label.
